Cheers!
I got home from a very challenging morning at work on Saturday, bloodied, bruised, and dripping with sweat (a story for another day). When I opened my Substack, I saw that I had now accumulated over 700 subscribers. I have no idea when we passed that milestone; it could have been weeks ago, but I thought I should say a heartfelt thank you to you all.
As you know, I’m a labouring man who works with his hands. I read a lot, think a lot, and most of my articles are simply the musings of my oft-tired wee brain. I hope you’ve enjoyed the page and found some benefit in it. I do try to provide a varied array of subjects, an offering that is probably quite unique in its scope.
To my handful of paid subscribers: thank you so much. I am genuinely amazed at your generosity, and it encourages me to keep on keeping on. To know that folk actually feel that my writing is worth parting with their hard earned cash for, reminds me that these words really do land somewhere, and that’s a mighty thing.
It has always been my ethos to keep the page free for all to read, free from paywalls. Yes, I know this has cost me (and will continue to), but I believe I have some important things to say, and the wider the audience, the better. That’s why it means even more when people freely choose to support it financially.
So again, a big thank you to you all!
Haven’t been as active on substack lately, look forward to catching up to your posts! You’ve passed a well-deserved milestone.
